MAY 2007 NEWSLETTER

bookends2.jpg (21863 bytes)

I hope you and your animal friends are enjoying the beautiful Spring Weather! Just to let you know I am available again for any consultations and orders. Also a reminder that except for quick follow-up questions after a consultation there is a nominal charge for email consultations of $30 which is to cover my time and costs and keep things flowing energetically. I do keep my prices as reasonable as possible to allow more people to have access to holistic care, and also make myself available for questions and advice, and your co-operation is appreciated in return.

Prompt payment of is much appreciated and a free email consultation will be given after one year of immediate payment of all invoices, starting from May 2007 - so effective in May 2008 after a year. This is to say thank you to all of you who pay promptly. Just email me after a year and I will verify that and set up a time for a free email consult.

DALLAS TRIP

Dallas Trip is still planned as soon as I have everything organized, so if you would like to be added to my list for a visit at that time please let me know. The visit charge will be $75 and I will be doing housecalls for the most part. Looking forward to seeing my Dallas clients soon, possibly in June or July. Thanks!

PET FOOD RECALL

The pet-food recall is still on-going as I am sure you know and there are links to some of the most helpful sites at www.petsynergy.com/recall.html and it is well worth looking at for information. I know many people were surprised and shocked to know that the so-called premium foods they were feeding were part of the recall, and the silver lining to this sad situation is a big shift in public awareness about how both animal and human foods are manufactured and the risks inherent in that. One site that is helpful is the Pet Food List at http://www.thepetfoodlist.com which helps determine where and how each individual pet food company makes there food, if they co-operated when asked. Its very helpful and eye-opening. I know many of my clients use home-made and/or raw food diets and as long as it is balanced would advocate this. Feline Instincts at www.felineinstincts.com has some helpful mixes to balance home made raw food diets for both cats and dogs and there are also some commercially available raw food based diets which are a possible alternative for busy people. Some are local so ask at your local Health Food and Pet stores for what might be available in your area. I don't have links to every individual recall on there as it is too much information but the links to the FDA and other web-sites are there where you can obtain that information directly.

Thank you and hope all of you and your animal companions are well.

We are waiting for approval of our septic permit and application for the building permit for our building plans, and it is a lot of paper-work thats for sure! In the meantime we have been finishing up our 'bunk-house' which will be used for storage and later on will be my office. Also continuing to prepare the building site so we can bring in the foundation as soon as we are ready, and then we will be building the log-cabin in stages as the logs come from Montana. We are definitely ready for the log cabin to be finished but are loving being here in the meantime and very comfortable.

We had a lovely visit with my mother and Lew 'Grandpa Goo' and Celeste enjoyed herself very much, we plan to go to see them next March in UK when my mother will be 70 years old. I know we are looking forward to that very much. Here they are with Celeste waiting for the ferry.

We had some changes with our dog family, some sad and some not. We adopted a new dog, a German Shepherd called McKenna and she is settling in well. Our cats Sirius, Coal and Yin and Yang are fine and love to hike and play outside (under supervision) and so is Solo the African Gray parrot who definitely rules the roost! He has quite the repertoire of Bald Eagle whistles now and has aspirations to be a Bald Eagle we think. Not sure what the eagles think about that!
